Actor Tom Berenger doesn’t play good guys very often. Somehow his face just lends itself to villainous roles. But since his acting debut back in the 1970s, Tom looks like he’s been through some changes, which may be due to plastic surgery, rather than aging.

61-year old Tom Berenger is probably best known for his Oscar-nominated role in Platoon. Since those days, Tom’s face has changed, and looks fuller.

Many plastic surgery bloggers have compared Tom’s new look to Mickey Rourke, due to his full face, which looks like it may have undergone some plastic surgery alterations (See Make Me Heal’s story on Mickey Rourke’s bad plastic surgery).

Tom doesn’t quite have sideburns, which is often indicative of a facelift at some point in time. His full face could also be the result of cheek implants, as well as facial fillers. Mickey Rourke is known to have undergone similar plastic surgery procedures, which could be why the actors now resemble each other.

While a full facelift and cheek implants are drastic, some have suggested that Tom may have undergone only a mini facelift and is using Botox injections to get that smooth, youthful look.

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “Tom Berenger looks like he has had an upper blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) and had some botox, but not much more than that.”

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, California says, “Tom Berenger may have had Botox and facial fillers, but there is not a clear indication he had any further procedures performed. Overall, his look is natural, and whether or not he chooses to have any surgery performed in the future is a personal preference.”

While Tom occasionally goes through acting dry spells, the former Scientologist is rumored to have several upcoming films due out next year.

Tom Berenger falls into the category of unfortunate plastic surgery. He used to be a lady killer, but after his facelift he looks almost inhuman. He went overboard with facial fillers, Botox treatments, a facelift, and more. If you look at Tom Berenger in his early 30's compared to now, you'll notice that he actually had more forehead wrinkles before. It looks like the ol' rumor mill is churning again, and this time it spat out some juicy plastic surgery rumors regarding long time actor, Tom Berenger, who you might remember from the movie Major League and Platoon.

And while we're not completely sold on the idea, other sites have speculated that Mr. Berenger has undergone a facial plastic surgery procedure or two, suggesting the possibility of cheek implants and a mini facelift.
